About

Rosa Dell’Acqua obtained her Master’s Degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Milan in 2021 and completed her Ph.D. in Chemistry in January 2025 in the same university. Her doctoral research focused on the design, synthesis, and application of peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) conjugated to organometallic complexes, with potential applications as anticancer and antibacterial agents.

Throughout her Ph.D., Rosa developed strong expertise in the synthesis and characterization of organic compounds, and in the preparation of organometallic complexes. As part of her Ph.D., she spent several months at the University of Warsaw, where she worked on antibacterial PNA conjugates and carried out biological assays on bacterial strains.

In March 2025, Rosa joined professor De Cola’s group, where she is currently working on the synthesis of organosilica nanocages and their encapsulation into exosomes for targeted cancer therapy. In parallel, she is also involved in the development of iridium complexes for DNA detection systems.
