Prof. Giorgio Facchetti is actually Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Milan. In 2025 he was awarded of the prestigious Italian research grant FIS3 (Fondo Italiano per la Scienza) with the project “LUminescent Smart meTal complExes for pRotein misfolding inhibition – LUSTER “. In 2015 he received “Fondazione Confalonieri” fellowship soon after receiving his PhD in Chemical Sciences at the University of Milan with a thesis entitled “New antiproliferative transition metal complexes: development and synthesis”. His research interests deal with the synthesis of theranostic organometallic complexes, hybrid metal catalysts and with the synthesis of new chiral ligands for metal-based homogeneous catalysis.
