About

Simone Potenti was born in Pistoia in 15/03/1993. In 2015 he completed his joint Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at the University of Pisa and the Scuola Normale Superiore. In 2017, he completed his joint Master of Science (University of Pisa and Scuola Normale Superiore) in Organic Chemistry, in collaboration with the Department of Chemical Sciences at the University of Naples Federico II of Naples (under the supervision of Prof. Marco d’Ischia), and the Laboratory of Astrobiology at the INAF Arcetri Astrophysical Observatory in Florence (under the supervision of John Robert Brucato).

In 2022, he completed his PhD in Methods and Models for Molecular Sciences at Scuola Normale Superiore, in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry at the University of Bologna, under the supervision of Prof. Pier Giorgio Cozzi, Prof. Cristina Puzzarini, and Prof. Vincenzo Barone.

During his PhD, he was involved in projects of astrochemistry, photochemistry and total synthesis. In 2022, he moved to Milan to join the Luisa De Cola’s lab, where he is currently involved in a project dealing with the synthesis of luminescent and electroluminescent metal complexes.
